Calamares Fritos Recipe (Calamaris a la Romana or Rabas)

This recipe is sometimes also called Calamari a la Romana or Rabas. It’s a dish similar to the Japanese »Tempura« (easy and quick to make) and you will – of course – find Calamares fritos in many Mediterranean restaurants. In Spain it is served most of the time as Tapas in bars or restaurants. Along with it comes may come a salsa sauce (Tzatziki, mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic sauce).
